Another school year has come and gone. Except for a few teachers, the 2018 – 2019 school year has officially come to an end. This year was an awesome one! Like other teachers, it had its ups and downs, but I can’t complain. I am proud of my students and wanted to highlight just one of their many, many accomplishments!
- Joshua can say his name now… not when asked, but will randomly say it. Not only that, he has also said backpack, and a few other words randomly. He is well on his way to saying more!!!
- Lily finally took a couple of steps on her own!!! Independent walking… here she comes.
- Kosinh told us, three different times, that he had to go to the bathroom… and when he sat on the potty… he went!!!
- AJ no longer needs to be tube-fed!!! He now drinks from an adaptive cup and eats pureed food!!!
- Angeline is independently taking steps in her pacer. It took the motivation of Barney, but she is doing it now!!!
- Selina is also independently taking steps in her pacer. It took the motivation of trying to get to my name tag, but she is doing it now!!!
- Joshua (second student by that name) became independent in walking around the classroom!!!
- Alexa improved in her trunk and head control that she is able to keep her head up for minutes instead of seconds!!!
I also want to give a shout out to my team. I am only as good as the team I work with, and I have a great one!!! Mary and Cecilia are my backbone and I want to thank them for making another year a truly enjoyable one!!! To all teachers everywhere, have a restful, fun, and enjoyable summer! You deserve it!!!
